Who is the Assiniboia CIA?

The Assiniboia Civic Improvement Association serves the residents of Assiniboia in the area of community building. The mandate of the CIA is to raise funds for cultural, recreational and sporting facilities for the Town of Assiniboia. We have completed the construction of The Prince of Wales Cultural & Recreation Centre. Our Complex, nicknamed the POW Centre, is shown above. Minor renovation and completion projects, such as our back stage area, and landscaping are still in progress. Our executive are VERY proud of our accomplishment in improving our community!

The official sod turning ceremony for the Prince of Wales Cultural and Recreation Centre was held in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, on April 27, 2001. This was a great day for our town. We have been able to get first run movies in our new theatre! The Southeast Regional College is also located in the Complex.
